Teeth in a Day

Request Appointment

If you’re missing most of your teeth, living with failing teeth, or tired of a denture that slips, the usual path to implant teeth can mean months of healing before you have a full smile again. Teeth in a Day shortens that wait by placing dental implants and attaching a fixed set of teeth in the same visit.

At Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons of Utah, our oral surgeons plan and place Teeth in a Day implants at five offices in Layton, Ogden, Bountiful, Clinton, and Pleasant View, and work with your dentist on your new teeth.

What Is Teeth in a Day?

Overview

Teeth in a Day, also called same-day dental implants, replaces a full arch of upper or lower teeth with a bridge that’s fixed to dental implants and attached on the same day as your surgery. Unlike a denture, the bridge doesn’t come out at night. It stays in place and is only removed by your dental team during maintenance visits.

The teeth you leave with on surgery day are provisional bridges, made to look natural and to let you eat and speak while your implants heal. Once the implants fuse with your jawbone, your dentist places your final bridge. Teeth in a Day is one of several full mouth dental implant options we offer.

Consultation and 3D Imaging

Your first visit includes an exam and 3D imaging of your jaw. Your surgeon reviews your bone, sinuses, and nerve positions, explains your options, and answers your questions.

Planning With Your Dentist

Your oral surgeon and restorative dentist use your scans to plan where each implant will go and to design your replacement teeth before surgery day.

Surgery Day

Any remaining failing teeth are removed with tooth extractions, your implants are placed, and your provisional bridge is attached. Anesthesia options, including IV sedation, keep you comfortable throughout the procedure.

Healing

Over the next several months, your implants fuse with your jawbone. You’ll follow a soft food diet, keep your follow-up visits, and use our surgical instructions to support healing at home.

Your Final Bridge

After healing, your dentist places your final bridge, made for long-term strength, fit, and appearance.

Is Teeth in a Day Right for You?

Request Appointment

Teeth in a Day may be a good fit if:

  • You’re missing all or most of your teeth in one or both jaws
  • Your remaining teeth are failing from decay, gum disease, or broken dental work
  • Your denture slips, rubs sore spots, or keeps you from eating the foods you enjoy
  • You want teeth that stay in place full time instead of a denture you take out
  • You don’t want to go without teeth while your implants heal

Implants need enough healthy jaw bone to anchor them. Angling the back implants can often make use of the bone you already have, but if bone has thinned after years of missing teeth, bone grafting can rebuild it first.

Gum disease, smoking, and some medical conditions can also affect healing, so your surgeon will review your health history before recommending Teeth in a Day. If a removable option suits you better, ask about implant-supported dentures.

Benefits of Teeth in a Day

Benefits

  • Teeth on surgery day: You leave with a full set of fixed teeth instead of waiting months.
  • Fewer surgical visits: Extractions, implant placement, and your provisional bridge can happen in one appointment.
  • Teeth that stay put: No adhesives, no slipping, and no plate covering the roof of your mouth.
  • Support for your jawbone: Implants help preserve the bone that’s lost after teeth are removed.
  • Less grafting in some cases: Angled implant placement can leverage existing bone.

Frequently asked questions

Contact us
  • Are Teeth in a Day implants permanent?

Dental implants are designed to be a long-term replacement for tooth roots, and your bridge is fixed in place, so you don’t take it out at night. The bridge you leave with on surgery day is provisional. Your final bridge is placed after your implants heal, and only your dental team removes it during maintenance visits.

  • How long does the Teeth in a Day procedure take?

Implant placement and your provisional teeth are completed in a single surgical visit. Your consultation, 3D imaging, and planning come first, and your final bridge is placed after a several-month healing period.

  • Is Teeth in a Day the same as All-on-4?

The terms are often used interchangeably. All-on-4® is a specific technique that supports a full arch with four implants, while Teeth in a Day refers to the result: fixed teeth on the day of surgery. The number of implants you need depends on your bone and bite, and your surgeon will recommend the approach that fits you.

  • How much does Teeth in a Day cost?

The cost depends on whether you’re treating one or both arches, how many implants you need, whether you need extractions or bone grafting, your anesthesia, and the material for your final bridge. Your surgeon will give you an estimate at your consultation, and our team can review insurance and financing options with you.
